THE ECONOMICS OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY ROYALTIES

The recording artist does not receive royalties unless he or she writes or co writes their own songs. There are different types of royalties and record labels also take a percentage of what the artist makes. I think its pretty much the way it should go, but it goes further than that to explain different types of royalties. Such as show royalties production royalties and copy right fees royalties. There is more put into money making in the music industry but it has become harder to keep track, and label companies turn greedy and just pay for your publicity.
