Who is your favorite character and why?
Animal Farm is filed with what it seems to be,
human – trait animals. They can speak and have free will to think of whatever
they want. Basically they have formed an empire of talking animals. The first
chapter only describes and highlights one character, there for I can only make
one choice. Major, the pig, is by far one of the smartest animals in a book I’ve
ever read about. So far I can state that Major the Pig, is not only the most interesting
character yet but he is intelligent as well.
He has the potential to realize that he is an animal under the ruling of human beings, and that he is not the only one but yet all of the animals are all under control of mankind.

His speech was impressive for only being a pig,
and his capacity to understand the circumstances he and his fellow comrades are
and where in. He takes the leadership role of the first chapter and he
characterizes himself as a pre-revolutionary. I like him for the fact that he
has a dream of freedom, and contains the fire inside him to spark the determination
needed to succeed. He openly discusses about how great a world without humans
would be. He is a solitary, but a strong willed person. I personally like him
because he eventually got tired of his position in life and realized he was
going to die anyway and decided to make a change or at least try to make on before
he dies there for he could make his dream come true, maybe not for himself but
for other animals to enjoy what he had envisioned.

This is a good introduction to the premise of the book, although you could go further and explain as a critic why the author has chosen to use anthropomorphic characters.
ReplyDeleteYou make good use of imagery in your own work which makes for interesting, readable writing. Good start.
Your analysis of the uses of rhetoric in Major's speech is missing. You have lost the grade for this work. Make sure all your subsequent homework is posted on time or it will severely affect this term's grade.
ReplyDeleteSee me in advance if you are having any problems.
Your third blog entry - finding similarities between events in 'Animal Farm' and events in our world, today, is also missing. Your homework is slipping behind and you must make a concerted effort to catch up.
